Description
Over these many years, I am sure a dozen or more times, I have heard sermons on adoption that were generic at best. No one seemed to be giving the interpretation of the scripture as it pertained to this part of doctrine called adoption. Yes we have rights and privileges and are in the family of God from the moment of salvation but all that I have listened to never talked about the former believing Jewish family into which we are placed.
I began frequently preaching the truths, on adoption, contained in this book and the scriptures nearly a decade ago. Dr. Andy Edwards and I have spent many hours discussing the accuracy of God’s Word concerning this subject. I am delighted that he gathered so many verses and compiled them into an easy to read and understood book. My prayer is that you let the Word of God set the record straight on adoption and not recent folklore nor tradition.
Paul instructed the Gentiles in Rome, Galatia and Ephesus about this wonderful adoption that takes place for every Gentile believer the instant we are born again. We, who were strangers and aliens, may now say that Abraham is our spiritual father. By faith we believe in the same gospel that was preached unto him. His very name change from Abram, meaning “father of one” to Abraham, “meaning father of many” was a prelude prophecy concerning us Gentiles coming to the Jewish light. That fact was rehearsed by Isaiah, Jeremiah and Moses.
The family must be in place before the adoption can be completed. That former believing Jewish family of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were certainly in place before the promises of adoption were proven again by Paul to Gentiles. Adoption pertains to Israel period. Would to God that every Pastor would include this part of doctrine in every new converts class.
